Yahoo Groups
is a great, free tool for allowing people to build online relationships and
to get information out on the web. Members can create and moderate
their own groups and have them listed in the Directories
portion of the Contingent Workforce Organization (CWO) web site.
If you are new to Yahoo Groups, here is a link to their help menu.
While CWO will list and review any relevant
Yahoo Group,
CWO also moderates several groups of its own. Members of these groups
are generally required to be a member of CWO.

"Inside the City" Groups

These groups are categorized by location and are to
be used in a "general" manner. The goal is for each group to
be a source of information, the "inside" scoop, on each
of their localities. Try to keep the posts relevant to the city location.

"Resume" Groups
|
|
|
These groups are categorized by "skill sets" and are
for candidates, consultants, or suppliers to list their resumes and services in a MicroSoft Word docuement in the Files section of the group. I then recommemed to briefly describe themselves in a post. Hiring managers, service requestors, recruiters, and talent agents can then subscribe to the group for access to the candidates and service providers..
